Andy Gilligan and Gary Wilson's side are gearing up for their eighth game of the 2024/25 NERWFL campaign with the side looking to carry the momentum from their three goal comeback against Kiveton Park.
The game will take place at the Jubilee Sports and Social Club for a 3pm kick-off.
The previous fixture for Wednesday included a dramatic comeback. Finding themselves three goals down they fought back to earn a tough away point with goals provided by Rachel Norsworthy, Nicole Shaw and Heidi O’Reilly. The highlight of the bunch being a last gasp goal from O’Reilly in the dying moments of the game to seal the comeback.
It has been a flawless campaign for Ossett United as they sit top of the league on 27 points with nine-wins-from-nine. They’ve also produced a goal difference of +32, 11 more than the team below them in the standings. In their previous game they faced Handsworth who they beat 4-1, this was their ninth league win on the bounce and they’ll be looking to make it ten against Wednesday this Sunday.
A player to watch for Ossett United could be Debbie Hastings who sits on a tally of 17 goals in 10 appearances this season.
As for Wednesday they currently find themselves seventh on ten points, with a win this Sunday having the potential to push them into the top five.
The game will take place at the Jubilee Sports and Social Club this Sunday for a 3pm kick-off. Entry is FREE and we hope to see as many of you there as possible showing your support!
