Wednesday Ladies started the game strong resulting in Michaela Barrett hitting the bar within the first minute of the game.
It took until the 17th minute for the deadlock to be broken as Jess Wright got the final touch from a corner grabbing her first goal of the season.
In the 24th minute of the game Wednesday doubled their lead from yet another corner. The ball was put in the box, touched down by Ellie McHugh and tapped home by Elise Young who also scored her first goal of the 2024/25 campaign.
Chloe Rose added her name to the scoresheet in the 32nd minute when good build up play led to the striker beating the last defender and slotting the ball under the keeper into the back of the net.
Wednesday continued to dominate and scored again just before half time as Monika Charles got on the end of a pass from Laura Galego and put the ball past the keeper to give Wednesday Ladies a 4-0 lead going into the interval.
The Owlesses started the second half like they finished the first and soon made it 5-0 after some good link up between Charles and McHugh which led to the latter calmly slotting the ball into the back of the net to deservedly get her name on the scoresheet.
In the 73rd minute, Michaela Barrett scored her first goal of the game after she rounded the goalkeeper and placed it home after she got on the end of another through ball from Laura Galego.
Barrett scored her second goal after dribbling past a defender and around the keeper to then cooly strike it past the Barlborough goalkeeper for her second goal of the game.
She completed a hat-trick after a quick one two from a corner led to her smashing the ball over the keeper into the top corner giving Wednesday their 8th goal.
Barlborough put some pressure on the Wednesday back four late on but the GK and defence held firm to give Wednesday a clean sheet to round off a wonderful 8-0 showing.
It was also great to see the return of long term injured Ellie King and Lucy Poskitt back representing Wednesday.
Elise Young was given the Player Of The Match for her outstanding performance.
Wednesday Ladies Reserves next game is against Barnsley Ladies Development on the 26th January.
